Happy Birthday to my handsome little boy Treyson! He turned two on July 26th! We celebrated his birthday up at our cabin in Montana with a lot of family members! I can't believe how fast time flies and how fast Trey has grown up! He has become a fun, energetic, full of personality little guy who thinks he is old enough to drive already; begging us every day! I love him so much and cant imagine life without him! Love you Treyson!

My beautiful little girl was born on July 7th at 6:54 in the morning! She weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces and was 19 inches long. We named her Sophie Rea Sotelo. Rea is my beautiful and classy grandmother and we wanted Sophie to carry her name! The delivery went smoothly and very fast because it was my second c-section. So within an hour of me getting to the hospital, she was born! The recovery was a lot easier this time...I was preparing for it to be worse than the first time, but I was up and on my feet that same day. We feel so blessed right now to have two healthy children. Trey is handling it pretty well. We were nervous to see how he would react, but he just seems to accept it and even like it. He asks to hold her and he loves to kiss her and help change her diaper. He has his jealous moments, where he wants me to hold him instead of her, but he has been pretty good! We are excited to have a girl and a boy now and I am sure it will be fun to see all the similarities and differences between the two! We love our little girl!

Circus for Trey's 18 month birthday

My little baby is really no longer a baby. Trey turned 18 months yesterday and we took him to the circus to celebrate! He loved everything, and his eyes were glued to whatever animal came out. He was able to go on a pony ride, but threw a huge fit after we took him off...he was screaming to go back on. It was fun to see how excited he was. I love my little boy and can't believe how old he is already.

We had a fun family night, carving pumpkins! We thought Trey would get really messy, so we took off his clothes to let him have at it. Instead of digging in with his hands, he decided that he liked to stir the stuff in the pumpkin. I carved the "scary" pumpkin and Justin carved a Seahawk pumpkin of course!

We had an early Halloween party at my husband's work! Trey was Nacho, Justin was a bigger Nacho, and I was the nun! It was so much fun! Justin and I tried to find a smaller Nacho outfit, but never found one, so we made this one. Trey made the perfect Nacho because of his cute chubby little body! He won the award for best kid's costume!

My husband Justin turned 30 a couple weeks ago, and I thought he deserves a surprise birthday party with his family and friends! It literally took about two months to prepare because I had to do everything during the day while he was at work, and with Trey being the busy body that he is, it was pretty hard. The theme I chose for his party was "Sliding into 30!" Since Justin played college baseball and is still obsessed with the sport, I thought a baseball party would be fun! So, I had the invitations on baseball tickets, and I bought all the food that you could find at a baseball game such as hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, popcorn, peanuts, soda, cracker jacks, etc. I tried to make it a fun "baseball" atmosphere. For dessert my sister-in-law Haley made an awesome baseball bat cake and I made some baseball cupcakes to go with it. With the help of my dad and aunt, we put together some baseball games. We had two throwing contests; one you had to throw it through the catcher's glove, and the other you had to knock down as many pins as you could. The last game we had everyone spin around ten times on a bat and then they had to pick up three baseballs, one at a time, and place them on a small circle. People were falling all over the place, and it was so funny and very entertaining. The winners got cafe rio gift cards. There were about 60 people up at our cabin at Sundance, and Justin was very surprised! It was overall a great night and one that Justin really deserved. He is a great husband, an amazing father, and just all around a well loved guy! Happy Birthday Justin! Trey and I love you!

My brother Mitchell just returned from his mission in Brazil yesterday! We are so happy to have him home and to be a complete family again! We love him so much and are spending every possible second with him! He was a great missionary and an example to our family! We love you Mitchell!

Every June, Justin and I head up to Spokane, Washington for the largest 3 on 3 basketball tournament in the world. There are thousands of teams that sign up to play. Spokane closes their whole downtown for everyone to play on the streets. Our court this year was on one of the bridges! Justin's family has been doing this tournament for the past fifteen or so years, and I have gladly joined in for the past four years. This year, we took my brother Kam and sister-in-law Haley. We wanted them on our co-ed team. There were 16 teams in our bracket, and we won the whole thing! We had some pretty tough competition, but we were pretty tough ourselves! It was a great feeling to win the whole thing...my first time! We look forward to next year!

Trey is getting so big! I love watching him grow up, but I don't want him to grow up at the same time. I just want him to stay my little guy! He has progressed so much over the past few months.
He has been crawling for a while and loves to play this game where he heads for the stairs and as soon as we spot him, he races as fast as he can to crawl up them. It is so cute, but a little scary now that he can crawl up the stairs. He is also standing and refuses to sit now that he can stand. He has this little walker that he uses, so I am afraid he is going to be walking soon. I don't want him growing up too fast. One of my favorite things about him right now is that he just growls at people. That is literally all he does. He will make other small noises, but he mostly just growls! Anyway, I love him so much!

Last weekend we went down to St. George with my mom's side of the family. It was so nice to get out of the cold weather and enjoy the sun! Trey loved it! He loves the water so much! When we give him a bath we have to get in with him because he goes crazy and we can't hold on to the slippery boy unless we are in there! So, he loved spending three days in a pool. He couldn't get enough and would throw a fit if we took him out of the water! It was great too because by the end of the day Trey was so exhausted that he slept forever! It was a fun trip, mainly because of how Trey loved it!

Growing up too fast

I can't believe how fast my little guy is growing up. He is almost seven months old already! He is starting to look more and more like a little boy now. He is so much fun and is always very happy. I love making him smile, but it really isn't hard. He is such a big boy. He weighs 21 pounds now and is in the 97th percentile for height and weight. He obviously doesn't miss many meals! I love seeing him start to develop in so many ways. He knows his name now and responds to it; he has been sitting on his own for quite some time now; he crawls but he crawls backwards because he can't figure out how to go forwards and he gets really frustrated with it, and he loves to cuddle which of course I can't get enough of! I love being his mom and Justin and I completely adore him in every way as I'm sure any parents do with their own children!!! So here are some pictures of my little guy!

I love these girls. We went up to my friend Sara's place up in Midway for our Christmas party and a night away from the kids! It was so much fun! We had a great dinner, and played a really funny game! Then we had a little girl talk while the husbands entertained themselves upstairs! I wish Justin could have been there, but he was in Ireland on business. Anyway, these are the girls I grew up with...from elementary through college! I love them all and we still have just as much fun now as we did back then, but I don't think we are as wild and crazy any more!!!

This is Trey's face for the past month! It is cute, but full of drool!!! He soaks every shirt he wears and if you hold him above your head and make him laugh and smile, your face will for sure be soaked as well! We love seeing him grow up. We love making him laugh! We love his huge, chunky thighs, and we especially love his curious, stubborn, and happy personality!

My Sister-in-law Janelle got married last week to Apana Nakayama! Apana played against Justin in baseball, and is now on his softball teams, so we are proud to say that we were the match makers in this marriage! Here are just a few pics!

I love it when my baby smiles! He is especially happy any time he wakes up, or when I blow dry my hair, don't ask me why! I can't get enough of him. Even at five in the morning when I am exhausted, he looks at me and smiles and I can't help but want to make him smile more!

Happy Anniversary to my husband! We have been married for three years today! Time really goes by fast. We met almost eight years ago, dated on and off for four and a half years, and have been married now for three. Justin is such a great husband. He is my best friend. I love being around him. I get excited when he comes home from work. He makes me laugh every day. He is very hard working. He is really fun and young at heart. He is ambitious. He is a great father to our little son. He treats me well and is very considerate of my needs. He is handsome. I am lucky to have him in my life and I love him so much...more and more every day. This past Sunday, Treyson was blessed by his father at my grandpa's house. The blessing was beautiful and I felt so much love for my son and my husband. I feel lucky to have them in my life. We were surrounded by so many family members who have been so supportive to us and we feel blessed to have them in our lives. I can't believe how fast my baby is growing. He has gotten so big and really long. I love that he is smiling now. Every morning when he wakes up, the minute I say hello, he starts smiling and trying to talk to me. I love his smile and his little noises, and I look forward to all that is to come as we raise our boy!!!

I love my little boy. I love seeing him grow! I love how frantic he gets when he wants to eat; which is like every second! I love the cute noises he makes and I love how he smiles when he sleeps. I love how he knows my voice and loves falling asleep in my arms. I love how alert he is with his beautiful, big, blue eyes! I love being his mom even though he pees on me frequently while I'm changing his diaper!

Treyson is getting bigger! I took him in for his two week appointment last week and he now weighs nine pounds six ounces, and is twenty two and a half inches long! He is in the 95% for height right now! I don't want him to get bigger though. I love having this little guy in my life. Trey is starting to smile and starting to make eye contact! He is sleeping better at night, even though he still sleeps with me. I know, I shouldn't let him sleep with me, but he won't sleep in his crib and I don't want him to cry. Plus, my doctor said there is no such thing as spoiling a new born! That is my excuse! I'll break him of that habit soon. Life is so different right now, and I love it! I love being a mom!

It is crazy that our little Treyson has only been with us for one week today. I love him so much and feel like he has been ours forever. I love to just stare at him and see his cute facial expressions and see him getting used to all the new things and people around him. I don't sleep much at night because he seems to have gotten his days and nights mixed up, but I don't mind staying up with him when it is just us two; it's our bonding time! We feel so blessed to have him in our lives and I feel so lucky to have two great boys in my life. My husband has gone the extra mile to take care of us and make sure we have everything we need. My mom has also been great; staying with us and helping us with our house and dinners and everything. It has been quite the week learning to become a mom!

Justin and I enjoyed another summer up in Montana! This year our time up there was cut short because we are going to have a baby in less than a month! My doctor insisted that I be home for my weekly appointments and I know that I need to be home, but I just hate leaving this beautiful place! I have come up to my grandpa's cabins at Hebgen Lake, Montana ever since I was born! The only summer that I missed was when I was in Romania on my mission! This place means so much to our family. It is a family vacation spot that my grandpa's parents started and now all of his sibling and their children and grandchildren all have cabins of their own on this beautiful lake! I loved being up there, although in June the water is freezing and it was pretty rainy the entire time. But I enjoyed the weather being eight months pregnant! I was glad to get out of the Utah summer heat. I love being pregnant, but the only down side is that I wasn't able to go water skiing or anything like that. I felt so restricted and it was so hard to watch everyone else go tubing, skiing, etc. and not be able to join in. I think I will plan my next baby to be due right before the summer so I can enjoy it more! Well, I am not that great of a blogger, but my husband bought me a nice new canon xsi camera for mother's day...well future mother's day for me and I love it! It was such a nice gift, so I made sure to put it to use!!!! Here are some pictures from Montana!!! We call our cabins Hebgen I, Hebgen II, Legacy, and there is one is the process of being built that we call Targhee! We have to have multiple cabins to house my grandparent's 50 grandkids, 1 great grandchild, and 20 adults! We are one big family but we love being together!

Okay, well I have to brag about my husband! I think he is amazing! He is the most motivated and hard working person I have ever met. He is so talented! He is smart, athletic, such a great husband, and he can make anything he wants to. The smaller things have been him making our beautiful entertainment center. The larger things...well he just made a 600 foot zip line up in Montana on my grandpa's property. It is not one that you just hold onto...that would be too dangerous! He made one that you are harnessed into! Everyone in my family enjoyed it so much! He only spent a couple of days working on it and it was complete! I love how hard of a worker he is and that he actually loves doing these type of projects! Anyway, enough bragging...I just feel lucky and blessed to have such a great husband!!!

Justin and I are getting ready for our little Treyson's birth! Here is his crib! We were going to create a sports room, a baseball room but we decided to let him create his own sports room as he gets older. So for now, we are sticking to cute animals since kids always seem to love them! We can't wait for our little guy to come in less than a month!

Justin and I found out last Thursday that we are having a baby BOY!!!! We are so excited! Justin was especially excited because he had his heart set on having a boy. I was trying to prepare him for a girl for weeks before the ultrasound just in case, but lucky for him, he got his boy! We are both so grateful that the baby looks completely healthy and seems to be doing great! We are so excited to become parents to this little boy!

Last Friday night we went to the MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice concert at UVU! It was crazy! Everyone was dressed in 80s outfits and it was fun to hear all their old music! Justin and I went with his sister Janelle, and some couples from his work! I tried to dance, but being almost five months pregnant, I'm sure I looked pretty funny! We had a good time!

Just For Today

Just for today, I will live through this day only, and not set far-reaching goals to try to overcome all my problems at once. I know I can do something for 24 hours that would overwhelm me if I thought I had to keep it up for a lifetime.

Just for today I will be happy. Abraham Lincoln said, "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." He was right, I will not dwell on thoughts that depress me. I will chase them out of my mind and replace them with happy thoughts.

Just for today, I will adjust myself to what is. I will face reality. I will correct those things that I can and accept those I cannot.

Just for today, I will improve my mind. I will not be a mental loafer. I will force myself to read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.

Just for today, I will do something to improve my health. If I have bad habit I'll make an honest effort to quit. If I'm over weight I'll eat nothing I know to be fattening. And I will force myself to exercise--even if it's only walking around the block or using the stairs instead of the elevator. Exercise and sensible living can extend life and make it more enjoyable; so just for today, I'll take good care of my body so I can celebrate many more happy new years.

Just for today, I will make a conscious effort to be agreeable. I will look as good as I can, dress becomingly, speak softly, act courteously, and not interrupt when someone else is talking. Just for today, I'll try not to improve anybody but myself.

Just for today I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have it, thereby saving myself from two pests; hurry and indecision.

Just for today. I will do what is right and take responsibility for my own actions.

Every summer my family, including my whole extended family, heads up to our grandpa's cabins in Hebgen Lake, Montana. We love it up there and spend most of our summer there, until we have to come home. We go skiing and boating everyday and just enjoy relaxing and getting away from the realities of the real world. But best of all, we are up there with just family, developing great relationships! We are so grateful to our grandparents for all that they do for us so that we can enjoy being together with our 18 aunts and uncles and 50 cousins! We are a big family that loves to laugh and of course we love to eat!

So, I've decided to start my own family blog! It seems like a great way to keep in touch with all of our family members and friends! Justin and I have been married for a year and a half now and are enjoying all of our time together! We dated off and on for about four years before finally getting married. I like to think that he just sat at home and waited patiently for me while I headed off on a semester abroad and then on my mission to Romania! Actually, I was really happy that he was still single when I got home! I am blessed to have such a great husband! We are currently living in Lehi, Utah. He is working at a computer company called EMC and I am a third grade school teacher!

This is what happened next! Justin and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 22, 2006! My grandpa sealed us! It was the most memorable day of my life! The reception was so much fun! I warned my husband not to shove cake in my face but obviously he didn't listen. I got him back though!

My friend Amber Sargent decorated my grandparent's house for my reception. She did such an amazing job! Just look at her flower arrangements!

After graduating from BYU, I took a job teaching third grade at a private LDS school called American Legacy Academy. These are my students! I only have six kids in my class because it is such a small school, but I love it that way! They are amazing kids and they make teaching fun!

Here we are in Seattle! Justin is from Seattle, so we head up there quite frequently! It is a beautiful place and there is always so much to do! We love going to Pike Place Market, Ballard Locks, and Snoqualmie Falls! Our favorite place to eat is at Ivar's; the best seafood restaurant in the world, and we spend most of our time in the Seattle Mariner stadium! We love baseball! This time we took my three youngest brothers Mitchell, Michael, and Connor! Kam stayed home since he had just come home from his mission!

We went on an Alaskan cruise with my mom's side of the family! I loved the beautiful scenery, while my husband mainly enjoyed all the food! He gained eight pounds in eight days on this trip!
